Wind, water, birds, insects, long stretches of quiet in between — outdoor sound doesn't run on one script, and Rize Çayeli in Çayeli plays its own version, whichever of these actually reaches you here. The smell changes with the season too: damp soil after rain, dry grass under summer heat, a sharper chill in the air once autumn sets in. Small shifts like that are half the point of stepping outside at all.
